Wonthaggi Underwater Hockey Club hosted the first of Victoria Underwater Hockey Summer Series social tournaments in December.
Nearly thirty players from across the state attended Bass Coast Leisure on Saturday 17 Dec 2020, to compete in the Bye Bye 2020 UWH Bash, a round robin format competition focusing on fun and getting players back in the water after a long time out of the pool due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Players of abilities and experience were allocated into Harry Potter themed teams for the event. Many of the senior players in attendance did a fantastic job passing on their playing knowledge to Junior players who were keen to improve their skills.
While games were very competitive the first Summer Series event also provided Underwater Hockey players a chance to resume playing the game they love post COVID lockdown. The event was highly social with players able to mix with others that they usually do not play with or against.
The next Victorian UWH Summer Series Event, hosted by the Geelong UWH Club, is coming up on 16 January 2021.
The Wonthaggi UWH Club will resume their Thursday Night Training nights on 4 Feb 2021, starting at 7 pm. New players are always welcome.
